MIGUEL ANGEL GARCIA MACIAS Pianist Composer Discoverer and Ideographic Inventor No. 324 Pino Suarez Avenue VERACRUZ, Veracruz Veracruz, Veracruz March 19, 1950 To the President of the Commission of Scientific Investigation of the United States of North America New York Dear Mr. President, This is to greet you and at the same time to bring to your knowledge the STUDIES which I permit myself to send to that Honorable Commission of Scientific Investigation, because I believe that it is my duty to make them available for the deep consideration of that commission over which you so worthily preside. This deals with stratospheric aerostats (?)* or Flying** saucers as people commonly call them, and which I believe your great Nation, making use of ATOMIC force, possesses. Before giving an exposition of my IDEA, I want you to know of the Inventions which I have thought up by means of my STUDIES as an IDEOGRAPHIC Inventor, and which have been REGISTERED and PATENTED by other persons whom I do not know and which are the following: "GOTE-GRADUNS" (DROP GRADUATION?) The "Gote-Graduns" was originated when I was making studies on Atmospheric Graduations of the Earth and one afternoon it occurred to me to graduate a Dropper. The experiment did not cause me a great deal of work since I was able to graduate it with ease, but the PLANS of my IDEA were stolen from me and patented in your Nation. "AUTOMATIC SHOVELS" for Dump-Trucks (or Concrete-Mixers)*** The Automatic Shovels originated when a party of Workers was trying to fill a Dump-Truck in front of the Custom House of the Port. I took my watch and I was able to prove that the workers took a long time to fill the truck since it took almost an hour and a half of continuous work. Then I thought that the same Truck equipped with an Automatic Shovel could do the same work in less time. I set about drawing up the plans and I sent them to Mexico to the Secretary of National Economy. The plans remained there These words are written "aereo-astactos extratofericos". I think that [STAMP: FRI - NEW YORK APR 7 1950]the writer intended to write "aereo-estaticos estratoesfericos". The writer frequently uses capital letters when there is no apparent need for them. The "FERROTACTOMETER and the FERROCEMACTOMETER" to eliminate Railway collisions from a DISTANCE at Road crossings. I extended this IDEOGRAPHIC INVENTION to eliminate automobile collisions on Roads, but since I do not have money I was not able to put it in PRACTICE nor to have it REGISTERED. Description of the STABILITY of SURFACE and the SUPERMEDIA (?) in order to prevent the sinking of big Transatlantic liners, guaranteeing the lives and interests of persons who travel, like those of Navigation Companies of the whole World. The graduation and Illumination of the Wharves which load large quantities of combustible materials, in order to eliminate accidents on the Wharves during the loading and unloading of the same. Study of the MULTIPLES and the SUBMULTIPLES of Mechanized gears. This study is correlated with Music since it deals with Universal mechanical gearing or gradual Centimetric Music of Future. STRATOSPHERIC AEROSTATS In this study enters Global Stability which Globe has Semi-Global Stability which Parachute has. Uniting two STABILITIES into one we find superior Stability or SUPER-STABILITY bodies Air or space. These apparatuses can be used in order avoid Atomic Explosion on Earth since velocity Greater than Light Sound according quantity Atomic Material fabrication. This apparatus can be used for the Study of the Stars. This force is applied by means of stratospheric skyrockets placed at the top or sides of this apparatus using Nuclear-Atomic force. I hope that my idea is Studied and approved by the said Commission and may serve for the Progress of the Universe instead of its DESTRUCTION, and for the good of all of us human beings who inhabit the Earth. My description is IDEOGRAPHIC, but I believe that it will be a grain of sand which will help the SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATION of that big Nation. THE FIRST PHOTOGRAPHS OF A "FLYING SAUCER", OBTAINED IN DURANGO AT AN ALTITUDE OF 9000 FEET (Caption under photographs) Mr. German Horacio Robles Jr., student at the National School of Engineering, is one of the thousands of persons who have seen "with their own eyes" the flying saucers or disks which have become the general topic of commentaries and have given rise to the most varied hypotheses. But at the same time the young man himself is the first to have photographed those strange apparatuses. He observed one of them and was able to take its picture against the skies of the city of Durango. 1. Picture of the "flying saucer" at an altitude of 8000 to 9000 feet above the streets of Durango. The apparatus seems to be a double truncated cone, joined at its bases which moves by something like jet propulsion and which displaces itself by changing position in order to use its motive force in the direction desired, for which reason it can be seen under apparently different forms. 2. Conception of Mr. Robles Jr., concerning the real form of the strange mechanical objects drawn by him. 3. Another aspect of the flying saucer. 4. The future civil engineer, Horacio Robles Jr., sketched in our editorial offices after having reported his observations on the flying disk and after having handed over the pictures of this apparatus which he had obtained. La presente es para saludarle y al mismo tiempo, para hacer do su conocimiento sobre los ESTUDIOS que me permito remitir a esa Honorable Comisión de Investigación Científica, porque creo ser mi deber ponerlos a la alta concideración de la que usted dignamente preside. Se trata sobre los Aexco-astactos extratoféricos o sean los platos voladores como bulgarmente nombran las gentes y que yo cre esa gran Nación los pose, aprovechando la fuerza ATOMICA, antes de hacer una exposición de mi IDEA, quiero que sepa usted de los In-ventos que he idealizado por medio de mis ESTUDIOS como Inventor IDEOGRAFO y que han sido REGISTRADOS y PATENTADOS por otras perso nas que yo desconosco y son los siguientes: "GOTE-GRADUNS" El Gote-Graduns nació cuando yo estaba haciendo Estudios sobre Graduaciones Admosféricas y de la Tierra y una tarde se me ocurrio graduar un Gotero el experimento no me causó gran trabajo, pues pu-de graduarlo con facilidad, pero los PLANOS de mi IDEA me fueron robados y patentados en esa Nación. "LAS PALAS AUTOMACICAS" para Camiones de Volteo. Las Palas Auto-máticas nacio cuando frente al Edificio Aduana de este Puerto una partida de Obreros trataba de llenar un Camión de Volteo, tome mi reloj y pude comprobar que el tiempo que demo-ravan dichos Obreros para llenar el Camión hora mucho, pues casi llegaba a una hora y media de trabajo continuo, entonces pense que ese mismo Camión dotado de un Recojedor Automático, podría hacer el mismo trabajo en menos tiempo,mc puse hacer los planos y los mandé a México a la secretaria Economia Nacional,los planos es-tubieron cerca Ocho meses despues dicho tiempo y haber pagado todos mis derechos como Inventor dicho Aparato se mc contestó que dicha patente ya había sido dada a otra persona la cual desconocso. "LAS SALAS DE OPTICA GRADUAL" para el Examen del vista. Este Estudio lo tengo en mi poder sin REGISTRAR,pues necesi-to comprobar algunas cosas para poderlo llevar a efecto. "LA MUSICA GRADUAL CENTIMETRICA DEL FUTURO" o sea el descubrimiento del Sonido (15) compuesto por la PIANOMETRIA, FONOMETRIA,CENTIMETRIA Y LA DISCOFONMETRIA. Pero lo más importante es el propio joven el primer haber fotografiado esos extraños aparatos. Observó sobre los cielos durango platillos volantes a 9 mil pies de altura sobre las calles durango platillos volantes parece un doble como los que se mueven por la ciudad y se desplazan en dirección descida.
